Hrachya Poghosyan
A man is rich according to what he is, not according to what he has.
Hrachya Poghosyan has been at the forefront of architecture and design since 1959 Interesting that a whole generation of Mr. Poghosyan's family creates works of the art, and the architecture is the way of life for them - for Mr. Hrachya Poghosyan (grandfather), Mr. Tigran Poghosyan (father), Iza Cholakhyan (grandmother), and Grisha Poghosyan (grandson).
Representative projects include: Sports and Concert Complex, Youth Palace, Rossia cinema, and resort of Armenia State Project and Ministry of Construction in Yerevan, as well as House of Cinematographers in the city of Dilijan, residential district No 5 in the city of Goris, Master plan of Abovyan city for 60,000 residents, and four resort hotels in the regions of Armenia.
The concept behind all his work is the same - to create a comfortable atmosphere, which will be in harmony of the surrounding area.
Give a luxury to the body, and comfort to the mind... this is how Mr. Poghosyan thinks in creating the masterworks.
He received his architectural degree from Yerevan State Engineering (Politechnical) Institute, Department of Architecture and Construction.
Mr. Poghosyan has received many prestigious awards for style and unique approach in planning and design, on projects throughout Armenia and abroad. Among them the Laureate of State Premium of USSR, Grand Prix of the World Biennale "InterArch-85" in Sofia, Laureate of State Premium of ArmSSR, and the 2nd prize for Plato Bobur International competition.
