Among the major works of ACD Company is the chain of Tufenkian Heritage hotels, the first luxury hotel chain located throughout Armenia. Two of those properties are already operational: one in Yerevan and the other on the eastern shore of Lake Sevan. Two others are under construction or in the final planning stages: one in the northern part of the country (Lorree Province), and the other is to the south (Vayots Dzor Province).
What are the most eye-catching features in interior design that ACD is doing? Each item in the rooms' interiors is handcrafted from natural materials - wood, stone, and iron. Even the stairs are decorated with old wood materials from wine barrels. The use made of wall plaster will also astonish. The colored drywall from tuff powder - mixed with emulsion and other ecologically sensible materials - is a first in Armenia. This powder was typically thought to be waste material from the mining process of the rock at the quarry. Also note the special floor covering made of a cement-polymer mixture that is used in room interior design - also for the first time.
Can you imagine a bathroom without imported ceramic tiles from Italy or Spain? Here again, we have adopted an original approach. Even while taking a shower, we think that you should still feel nature's presence.
Tertaqar from Ijevan - this is another discovery of the Poghossyans. The stone fares well in a comparison with ceramic tiles. What is even more surprising is that the scent of the wet stone takes you back to a beach. Please note the details of the bathroom accessories. What do you think?
The original use of Armenian construction materials has been the focal concept in the design in all phases of construction. This is meticulously and thoughtfully implemented by the architects. The use of ecologically pure material is also a focal point: the fabrics used in interiors are of natural origin.
At Avan Marak Tsapatagh hotel each balcony has an incredible view: the benefit of a correct design as applied to each of the 34 rooms.
When they designed these hotels, the architects were influenced by the 19th century, pre-industrial, Armenian culture. This heightens the hotel guests' awareness of local culture and traditions.
